Our Annual Golf Tournament at Bayou Barrier Golf Club started with a bang at noon with 15 teams teeing off from a shotgun start. We were happy to have our first junior team, a group of boys ranging in age from 13 to 14 who really set a standard of respectful and sportsman-like conduct on the course. They demolished the buffet line afterward though!
A couple of hours into the game the heavens opened up and a torrential downpour soaked the course and a few of our more “hard-core” golfers. The game was called but the fun didn’t end. A string of prizes was awarded to the golfers for multiple categories including a dues free ride in our parade on February 18, 2017. The winner has already claimed her spot!
The success of this event, like all of our fundraisers, must be attributed to some of our amazing Board and Krewe Members for volunteering their time and hard work. The efforts of Jace Pellegrin, Kim Ellingburg and Toni Plumer are hugely appreciated!
We will be planning another tournament for next year so get your foursome together and watch for updates. We’ll let you know in plenty of time to save the date!
